Q: Can I become a member or volunteer with The Queen's Guard?
A: There are requirements for membership or to volunteer with The Queen's Guard. First, you will need to complete the volunteer application below. As you will see, there is a requirement that you are able to pass a background check, complete the training to become a mandated reporter, complete our volunteer training, and then be present for at least three events with a member.

About The Queen's Guard
Q: What all does The Queen's Guard actually do?
A: We hold positive signs, come up with family-friendly chants together, bang homemade drums, and otherwise have cordial interaction with, and in support of, the LGBTQI+ community and allies. Many of our members also help educate the community about LGBTQI+ issues. We also hold events for the LGBTQI+ community and allies, such as Underground Pride: The Prom and Underground Pride.
Q: Has The Queen's Guard made an impact?
A: Yes! We have had many LGBTQI+ people, and parents of, thank us for our efforts to spread positivity and love. A few newspapers have interviewed and written articles about our efforts and community service. We were even interviewed by the Southern Poverty Law Center! People have thanked us for our support of intersectionality and diversity, and for our presence at events that may not focus on LGTBQI+ matters, but overlap with or impact it.
Q: Is The Queen's Guard made up of only LGBTQI+ people?
A: No, we have an incredible mix of both LGBTQI+ people AND allies! To include friends and parents of LGBTQI+ adults and youth alike is how we build community.
Q: Does The Queen's Guard have a center I can visit?
A: We do not have a physical location, yet. Currently, we keep connected through social media, this website, and we show up, as needed, to various events. Check our Events page to meet up in person and keep an eye out to sign up for our newsletter.

A: Yes! We love to network in our communities with other organizations. Creating positive connections helps us serve our community better. It also helps us point LGBTQIA2S+ members to other inclusive businesses and organizations.
