At The Queen’s Guard, our mission is simple: to nurture acceptance, joy, community, and safe spaces for LGBTQIA2S+ folks and allies, especially youth.

Misinformation about our work can create fear and misunderstanding, and we recognize the harm that it can cause, especially for those seeking safety and affirmation. Our goal is to uplift and empower, fostering open dialogue rooted in respect, truth, and inclusivity.

We are grateful for the support of organizations like the Mat-Su Health Foundation and businesses like Black Birch Books, whose commitment to community well-being helps ensure that LGBTQIA2S+ individuals and allies have access to safe spaces and essential resources. Their partnership strengthens efforts to build a healthier, more inclusive Mat-Su for everyone.

Our events, like Underground Pride (celebrating its 6th year) and our Youth Coffee Q-nnections (in its 5th year), are about bringing people together in joy and solidarity.

Monthly Coffees
Each month we hold an adult coffee chat and a youth coffee chat. All LGBTQIA2S+ and allies are invited. Sessions last for about 2 hours. Its an opportunity to meet community and have fun in a safe and inclusive space.
Underground Pride!
A day of love, joy, and connection celebrating the LGBTQIA2S+ community and allies. This is YOUR chance to make unforgettable memories, enjoy incredible entertainment, shop amazing vendors, delight in delicious food, and uplift our diverse community.
Drag Story Time
Our fantastic storytellers, Drag Kings and Drag Queens, will be bringing beloved children's books to life in a warm and welcoming environment. This event celebrates diversity, encourages creativity, and promotes love for reading among children and adults alike. No performance, just pure storytelling delight!
